Learn about getting funding for a person with a disability at Nov. 16 NAMI program
NAMI, Kane County North affiliate, is sponsoring a free session on “How to be Successful in Obtaining Funding for a Person with a Disability” on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin. It will be 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Elgin Room on the second floor.
Attorney Robert H. Farley will present the topic, after providing legal representation to children and adults with disabilities for over 25 years. His law practice is focused exclusively on helping people obtain government services and benefits due to their disability. He has argued numerous cases before the Illinois Supreme Court, and before the Federal District and United States Court of Appeals. He has four adult children, including Ryan, his developmentally disabled son.
He will speak to guardianship, special needs trusts, applying for Supplemental Security Income benefits, and other strategies to obtain funding. Visit his website at farley1.com.
Register for the event through the library by calling (847) 429-4597 or going online to gailborden.info/register.
