Palatine cat rescue hosts “Whiskers & Wishes with Santa” photo event

Barb’s Precious Rescue and Adoption Center, a no-kill shelter for cats in Palatine, will hold its first holiday photo event, "Whiskers & Wishes with Santa," from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Cat owners are invited to join this festive gathering at Barb’s Precious Rescue, at 313 N. Quentin Road, for an afternoon of holiday fun, photos and community support.

Local pet owners can capture cherished holiday photos of their cats with Santa, an elf and Quentin, the rescue’s mascot, in front of a holiday-themed backdrop adorned with festive decor. A professional photographer will be on-site to capture each moment, and all funds raised from the event will support Barb’s Precious Rescue’s mission of providing care and shelter to cats in need. Suggested donations of $10 or a food item for the rescue are encouraged, with additional opportunities to support the shelter through cookie and merchandise sales.

Barb Weber, founder of Barb’s Precious Rescue, will be present to meet guests and share the rescue’s story and mission. Attendees are welcome to dress up their pets in holiday attire to add to the festive atmosphere. All proceeds from donations, photos and merchandise will go directly toward the shelter’s continued operation and care for its residents.
