The left’s mistake

I was not surprised to see that your chastising editorial about Trump’s character followed closely the NY Times’ example of blaming the majority of American voters for what you perceive as their failure to do right. That you would, once again, cement your feet firmly on the left is no longer something to be surprised about.

What characterizes the left however is your failure to see the beam in your own eye. Trump is, indeed, a flawed person, I can agree. But, then again, so is Harris in very big ways. Her constant assertions that Trump is a fascist and a Nazi, is just one example of her distance from truth. So her character is also impaired. You could not even nod to that obvious problem because, if Harris’ character is also flawed, what is your argument?

The vote, then, turned not on character but on Americans’ desire to have a well-functioning economy, low inflation, protected borders and a strong military without war. That is something the Harris administration has failed miserably at but Trump achieved. When voters did that comparison, he improved his position in every category (male, female, black, Hispanic) and won the popular vote. So, voters saw each candidate as flawed but having radically different abilities. They chose the one with a history of success.

The voters didn’t buy the straw man arguments that you and the Democrats tried to sell them. Thank goodness for that.
