Elk Grove Village to host holiday tree lighting Nov. 29

The village of Elk Grove is excited to announce this year’s Holiday Tree Lighting event taking place on Nov. 29, beginning at 4 p.m. Join for a festive evening filled with music, treats and new family-friendly activities.

All new this year, the village will host Storytime with the Board. It will take place during two sessions, 4-4:30 p.m. and 4:30-5 p.m., in Village Hall Room E. Storytime with the Board is guaranteed to be a festive event where members of our board will bring holiday magic to life through beloved stories. No tickets or reservation needed.

Also new this year, children will have the opportunity to hop aboard the Elk Grove Express from 4-5:30 p.m., in the Village Hall parking lot. This train ride promises to create unforgettable memories and bring smiles to every face. No tickets or reservations are needed.

Eventgoers can also enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, and hot cider while enjoying spending time with family and friends. Refreshments will be available beginning at 4 p.m.

From 4:30-5:30 p.m., in the Village Green, enjoy a live concert by The Lovin' Spoonful, most well known for the song, “Do You Believe in Magic.”

Following the concert, Mayor Johnson will throw the switch to light up the village's holiday tree and turn on over 250,000 lights around the Municipal Complex, Elk Grove Public Library and the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion.

A special fireworks display will follow the tree lighting, announcing Santa’s entrance.

Families are invited to stay and take a free photo with Santa.
