Aurora church to host Thanksgiving dinner for needy

Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora will host an early Thanksgiving dinner for people in need.

The Rev. Tammy Scott, Wesley lead pastor, said the “Feast of Hope” event will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora. The sponsor is LV Cares, an Aurora-based nonprofit.

Congregants and friends are requested to donate turkey, ham, mixed vegetables, biscuits, fruit, desserts, plates, utensils and winter clothes.

According to Rev. Scott, Wesley is working with LV Cares to provide a place for members of the community to receive a hot meal and warm clothes for winter.

LV Cares is a community-focused organization dedicated to providing support and assistance to those in need. Through various programs and initiatives, the initiative aims to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in the local area.

With a strong emphasis on compassion and empathy, LV Cares strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals can access resources and services to help improve their quality of life. By fostering a sense of community and collaboration, LV Cares works toward building a stronger and more resilient society.
