Buffalo Grove home uninhabitable after laundry fire
A Buffalo Grove home was left uninhabitable after a fire that started in a dryer Monday afternoon.
The fire department was dispatched to the home in the 0-100 block of Park Avenue at about 1:45 p.m.
Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the house and stretched a hose line into the residence while searching for occupants. The fire was found in the dryer and spreading into the first floor laundry room, officials said. It was quickly extinguished and no occupants were found in the house, according to village officials.
There were no injuries reported, but the house was deemed uninhabitable due to smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
