Hoffman Estates Park District to honor Stephanie Felber as Outstanding Citizen Volunteer of the Year

The Hoffman Estates Park District (HEParks) is proud to announce that Stephanie Felber was recently honored as the Outstanding Citizen Volunteer of the Year by the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD). Stephanie received this prestigious award for her decades-long commitment to youth programs and her exceptional leadership of the Twirling Twisters Baton Corps.

Since 1994, Stephanie Felber has devoted countless hours to teaching baton classes and coaching the Twirling Twisters, a youth baton twirling team she founded in 1989. Under her guidance, the team has achieved remarkable success, including state-level victories and participation in national competitions. The Twirling Twisters have also been selected to represent the U.S. at the World Baton Twirling Championships in Turin, Italy, in 2025.

“Stephanie's dedication and passion for youth development and the arts have made a profound impact on our community,” said Craig Talsma, executive director of HEParks. “We are thrilled to celebrate her contributions with this well-deserved recognition.”

Stephanie Felber was formally recognized at the IAPD Best of the Best Awards Gala last week, which took place at the Wheeling Park District’s Chevy Chase Country Club.
