Hanover Township to host Veterans Resource Fair

Hanover Township will host a Veterans Resource Fair from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett. Veterans, their families, and caregivers are invited to attend and speak with dozens of representatives from service groups, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and more, regarding benefits and services for veterans. The fair is cosponsored by State Sen. Cristina Castro and Elgin Councilman Anthony Ortiz.

“This is a great opportunity to learn about local resources for veterans in regard to benefit assistance, in-home care, and discounts on services,” said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. “The township has a proud history of supporting and honoring veterans; this inaugural fair simply builds on our existing programs for vets.”

Guest speaker Vietnam Veteran, Marine Corporal Jack Imburgia of Delta Company, 2nd Platoon, 1st Battalion, “The Walking Dead”, will talk about his experiences in Vietnam and serving with the Marines.

For information on the fair, or on township’s veterans programs, please call (630) 540-9085 or email info@hanover-township.org.
