TasteFest 2024 crowns local favorites in Great Taste Awards

Nearly 400 guests enjoyed an evening of culinary delights and crafted spirits at the 19th annual Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce TasteFest on Oct. 23.

Hosted at Wild Onion Brewery & Banquets in Lake Barrington, the event featured more than 20 of the finest restaurants, caterers, and beverage vendors from the Barrington area.

The event included presentation of the Great Taste Awards. Attendees voted for their favorite dishes and drinks. This year’s winners are:

• Best Taste — Wild Asparagus Catering

• Best Entrée — Region Kitchen & Bar

• Best Spirit — Generic Spirits

• Best Dessert — Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie

“These winners exemplify the creativity and flavors that makes our local food scene so special,” said Suzanne Corr, chamber president. “With such a close competition, it’s clear that Barrington’s culinary talent is truly top-notch.”

The event featured a variety of offerings from well-established and new purveyors, including: Adruni Vineyards, Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie, Brunch Café, Buffalo Creek Brewing, Chessie’s Restaurant, Garfield’s Beverage Warehouse, Generic Spirits, Georgio’s Chicago Pizzeria and Pub, Gianni's Cafe, Giostra, KRH Restaurant & Garden, LAGO by Fabio Viviani, Moretti’s of Barrington, Nekter Juice Bar, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pinstripes, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, sweetgreen, Tangled Roots, The Hampton Social, Vault 232, Vin Chicago, Wild Asparagus Catering, and Wild Onion Brewery.

Judson Brown Band provided live entertainment. Guests also participated in the thrill of the Money Machine, hosted by presenting sponsor Barrington Bank & Trust Co., where participants attempted to catch fast-flying cash.

Event sponsors were Barrington Bank & Trust Co., GK Real Estate, Marquardt of Barrington, and Partnership Financial Credit Union. Business vendors who displayed their products and services included Barrington Back and Body, Barrington Bank & Trust Co., N.A., ChiroOne Wellness Center, Marquardt of Barrington Buick/GMC, and Partnership Financial Credit Union.
