A day for thanks

I think we can agree on one thing for sure. We live in challenging times and there is a great deal of division of thought, ideas and beliefs.

Most of us value the ideal of freedom. Today as in the days of early America, we are humans and have made many mistakes as individuals and as a nation while at the same time have moments of courage and valor. What about going back to the beginnings of our country with Judeo-Christian values, while embracing religious freedom?

George Washington, on the day of his inauguration as our first president, walked over to St. Paul's Chapel for prayer and consecration of this nation to God's standards. He encouraged the people that we should not depart from God. To do so would bring on the removal of His blessings, prosperity and protection of our beloved country.

What does God ask of of us? If we have the gift of faith, how about we take a day and give thanks and repent of our own mistakes/sins as individuals and as a nation. What say you? Any day will do.
