Attorney Christina Sanfelippo named to American Bankruptcy Institute’s ‘40 Under 40’ list

Christina Sanfelippo, an associate in Cozen O’Connor’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring Practice, has been selected as an honoree of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2024 “40 Under 40” Emerging Leaders in Insolvency Practice Award program.

The highly competitive and prestigious list annually honors 40 top industry professionals under the age of 40 who demonstrate remarkable ability, leadership, and achievement in the bankruptcy and insolvency community. The honorees, selected by a group of experienced insolvency professionals, are distinguished by their exceptional professional achievements and service to their communities.

The ABI will formally recognize “40 under 40” honorees at its Winter Leadership Conference on December 13 in Scottsdale, Arizona. To view the full list, visit www.abi.org/newsroom/press-releases/abi-announces-2024-40-under-40-emerging-leaders-in-insolvency-practice.

“We are honored to celebrate the exceptional leaders within the 2024 class as they continue to make a significant impact both in their practice and in their communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “As bankruptcy practice continues to evolve, this diverse collection of honorees will propel ABI and the insolvency community forward.”

At Cozen O’Connor, Sanfelippo concentrates her practice in the areas of bankruptcy, restructuring, and bankruptcy litigation. She represents debtors, trustees, and creditors in a range of Chapter 7 proceedings, including preference and fraudulent transfer actions, as well as complex bankruptcy litigation. She also represents debtors and official committees of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings.

Sanfelippo serves as chair of the board of directors for the Chicago Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), vice director of news on IWIRC’s international board of directors, and co-chair of the ABI’s Young and New Members Committee.

In 2018, Sanfelippo was awarded IWIRC’s prestigious Rising Star Award for her exceptional leadership and contributions to IWIRC’s mission of enhancing the professional status of women in the insolvency and restructuring profession.

In 2021, she was selected as one of only 40 bankruptcy practitioners to participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges annual Next Generation Program.
