Wheeling restaurant and owner honored for community service

Wheeling’s Rise n Dine restaurant and owner Ivan Arriola have received a Community Service Award from the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association.

The prize recognizes the restaurant’s and Arriola’s support of Wheeling Park District events including Fallapalooza, its International Festival and a Day of the Dead race, the park district said in a press release.

Arriola also volunteers at park district events and donates food for events.

“Ivan and Rise n Dine have consistently supported our programs and events in ways that deeply enrich our community,” park district Executive Director Jan Buchs said. Their contributions help us provide enjoyable, memorable experiences for residents of all ages, and we are truly grateful for their generosity and dedication.”

Rise n Dine is at 102 S. Milwaukee Ave., just south of Dundee Road.
