Thousands of students descended upon the Lake County Fairgrounds to learn about future career opportunities during the Navig8 Lake County event Wednesday.
Middle schoolers from Fremont District 79 were among more than 4,000 students in attendance at the Navig8 Lake County jobs and careers event Wednesday at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake.

A group of 130 Fremont Middle School students from District 79 in Mundelein were among the 4,200 eighth-graders and high school students who attended to learn about careers and jobs in a variety of fields, including health care services and technology, human and public service education and training, information technology, manufacturing, finance and business service, arts and communication and agriculture.

“It’s a great opportunity for kids to be exposed to different jobs that exist and see if something might pique their interest,” said Nick Brilowski, District 79 director of public relations.
