Thank you for the local reporting

I made a wrong choice on a recent afternoon, but thank you, Daily Herald, for keeping me in the loop.

I try to make it to Huntley girls’ volleyball games as often as possible, but skipped one this time and missed the Red Raiders high-pressure victory against the Prairie Ridge Wolves. Fortunately, the DH Sports section carried a colorful description of the game the next day, Oct. 9. My first reaction to the story was “shame on me” for missing what would have been an exciting night out. But Alex Kantecki’s game coverage and Gregory Shaver’s dynamic photos made the game come alive on paper. It was a fresh reminder of how local reporting keeps readers informed and encourages us to be involved with our communities.
