Elect leaders that will tackle debt
I read the Herald as I do most mornings, get some information and move on. I do not always agree with statements in the paper but I do think the staff tries to offer a balanced approach. However, this morning something struck me as being off.
Every pundit has been saying the number one issue is the economy. The article outlining the potential additional national debt under both Harris and Trump appeared today on page two of the business section. Something of this magnitude and importance should be front page news on Sunday. The people that study these things tell us that servicing the debt will be unsustainable. I understand that reducing debt means hard decisions and a lot of compromise. We must elect leaders at all levels of government that understand how to work together. This problem needs to be addressed immediately or we will saddle our children and grandchildren with something not of their making.
