Glen Ellyn History Center to salute Army Signal Corps
The Glen Ellyn Historical Society this week is remembering the women who served in the Army Signal Corps during World War I.
Jeffrey Anderson, the nonprofit’s executive director, will give a presentation on women who were sworn into service at the request of Gen. John J. Pershing in 1917 to improve communications on the Western front, according to an event description.
The free program is set to begin after the historical society holds a brief annual members meeting at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.
