Handgun reported stolen in Des Plaines

A handgun was reported stolen Thursday out of a house on the 900 block of Grant Drive in Des Plaines, police said.

The Ruger 9 mm pistol had been in a drawer in an end table, a police spokesman said.

The owner discovered the gun missing while cleaning the house, police said.

He believes it disappeared sometime after July, police said.
