Glenbard South Theatre to put on ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ Oct. 31-Nov. 2

Join Glenbard South High School for a performance of “Where the Wild Things Are,” adapted by student Kaitlyn Urbanowicz, from the original children’s book by Maurice Sendak.

The performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31; 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1; and 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the school auditorium, 23W200 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn. Enter through Door 9 (theater entrance) near Abruzzo Lane.

This is a student written, produced, designed and directed show that is sure to delight fans of the book, as well as audience members new to the story of Max and the night he “wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another.”

All seats are $5 general admission. Tickets in advance at glenbardsouthhs.seatyourself.biz/ or at the door.

Cash/check will be accepted at the door. Credit card purchases must be made in advance online; online/credit card sales close six hours before each show. The run time of the show is approximately 30 minutes.

Student leaders include: writer and producer Kaitlyn Urbanowicz; director Olivia Abbott; scenic designer Breanne Crawford; lighting designer Andrew Lullo; sound designer Erin Egan; charge artist Amelia Buhle; master carpenter Joe Johnson; costume crew head Ashe DeFlorio; assistant stage manager Isabella Dodd, and stage manager Abigail Anderson.

Cast members include: Valerie Aliga, Danielle Allaway, Amelia Bartoli, Emily Bertini, Alaina Burke, Evelin De La Cruz, Amelia Guetzow, Kanik LaFrancis, Sofia Maho, Carter Magnussen, and Aniyah Nelson.

Build and paint crew members include: Adam Berntsen, Ella Brown, Amelia Buhle, Jared Cosnowski, Breanne Crawford, Christopher Dodd, Arcier Funez Sanchez, Joseph Johnson, Elizabeth Pekkarinen, Quinlin Pounders, Jasmine Villar, Riven Wisniewski. Costume crew members include Ashe DeFlorio, Victoria Gaborek, MacKenzie Herlien, EmmaLeigh Kidder, Ariella Poi, Isabella Ramirez, Eibhlinn Schroeder, and Say Ray Shee.

Lights and sound crew members include: Adam Berntsen, Jared Cosnowski, Erin Egan, Emerson Girling, James Jeschke, Liyana Khader, Andrew Lullo, Evalina Olsen, Quinlin Pounders, Precious Smith and Riven Wisniewski.
