Vote for candidate with heart, character
When I was a sophomore in college, I had to go off-campus to see a movie for a class I was taking. A friend of mine and I went to see this film, laughing and joking all the way and rather carefree. After seeing this movie, we walked back in stunned silence, not saying a word to each other. The movie was “Mein Kampf,” which detailed graphically the horrors of the holocaust and the rise of Hitler and Nazi Germany.
You saw the camps, the atrocities, the ovens and the ashes. You saw torture and cruel experiments and beatings and starvation. You also saw how Jews and other groups were demonized and portrayed as basically subhumans who were poisoning the blood of the Aryan race. Such dehumanization enables the atrocities we saw.
After seeing this, my life changed. I learned never to demonize a group, never to stereotype them because all it can lead to is misunderstandings at best and mass murder at worst. Look beyond the cover of the book and into the book.
The two candidates for POTUS are Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Which one has made comments about ethnicities in a negative way? It was Donald Trump who said “ban all Muslims.“ It was Donald Trump who said Mexicans are “murderers and rapists and drug dealers.“ It was Donald Trump who said Haitians, I guess all of them are killing pets and eating them. It was Donald Trump, who said immigrants are staining the life blood of our country.
Regardless of how you feel about the respective parties look at the people who are running for president. Vote for the best person. Vote for the one who has the best heart and character. And, folks, it’s Kamala Harris. Our country’s future hangs in the balance. Make the right decision.
