Great performances didn’t get recognized
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was a delight to behold and the father(s)/son(s) storylines brought a tear to my eye. Loved the show, but I have two complaints.
(1) The Playbill has pictures of 36 actors, along with a sentence or two about each one. However, the role each actor plays is not included. No doubt they’ll need to print more copies and when they do I hope they include this vital information.
(2) The curtain call was great, until it wasn’t. It started with actors with lessor roles, followed by those with bigger parts, then came an individual nod for the person who played the featured role of Delphi Diggery.
So far, so good. But then the actors who played Harry, Ginny, Ron, Hermoine, Draco, Albus Severus and Scorpius all come out together. They took a group bow and that was it. So the audience was deprived of the ability to acknowledge each of the main roles, in particular the actor who played Scorpius (I’d include his name, but the Playbill didn’t bother to let us know who played whom.)
I sure hope the production staff fixes this glaring error. I know the show is just shy of three hours, but adding another minute or so to the curtain call would provide the audience with a much better experience.
