Elgin looking for 2024 Holiday Tree

This year, the City of Elgin and the Department of Cultural Arts & Special Events are looking for a holiday tree to shine bright in the revitalized DuPage Court.

Submissions for trees in the Elgin area and surrounding suburbs (30-mile radius or less) will be accepted at specialevents@cityofelgin.org until Oct. 27, 2024.

All tree submissions must include the following: be between 30-50 feet tall; be located less than 30 miles from the City of Elgin; be in good health; and preferably be a Norway or Colorado blue spruce, fir tree, or an evergreen. (Pine trees will not be accepted.) Trees that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered.

All submissions sent to specialevents@cityofelgin.org will need to include: owner(s) full name, address, email and phone number; a brief email sharing why the tree should be considered, including any history that makes it special; and at least four photographs of the tree, capturing the overall height, circumference, and health.

The selected tree will be announced in early November. Learn more at elginil.gov/2499/Winter-Holiday-Events.
