Village leaders committed to sound budgeting

When the Board of Trustees and I made the decision to introduce a gas tax on Bensenville’s highly trafficked gas stations, we did so because we knew it would provide increased revenue that would predominately come from out-of-town visitors and over-road truckers filling up on the way to and from O’Hare, along with other regional transportation hubs.

Since its January introduction, this has resulted in an even stronger financial standing for the village. In fact, the S&P Global Ratings recently assigned an ‘AA’ long-term rating to the Village. This investment grade rating reflects the village’s stable financial outlook and sound fiscal management.

The board and I are longtime proponents of smart fiscal policies, responsible spending and putting the residents’ best interests above all else. As a result of the village’s strong financial footing and increased revenue without the need for new property taxes, our board believed that the removal of residential vehicle sticker requirement achieved all three of these goals.

The village board is committed to lightening the load placed upon our community whenever possible and we will continue to use taxpayer dollars in a manner that efficiently improves the quality of the community with the best interests of Bensenville residents at the forefront of our decision-making.

Frank DeSimone

Village of Bensenville President
