A citizen’s rebuttal

After reading the Daily Herald’s endorsement of the Joy-Walz ticket, I was moved to write this quick rebuttal. But I hesitated because it became clear I would have to make references to the Ten Commandments and the U.S. Constitution, pointing out where it says not to murder (abortion) or steal (confiscatory taxation) or lie (the media), or where Americans are guaranteed the right to speak freely. There simply was no space for all that argumentation.

Indeed, a more basic test of the Herald’s faculties is called for an eye exam. Do the paper’s editors not see the carnage of crime in our streets? The chaos at the southern border of migrants—dangerous or docile, but all criminals—invading our country? The high price of groceries and gasoline? How does one discuss the nature of light and darkness (or politics) with a person who cannot see, or seeing, misinterprets what he sees or else dissembles?

The Herald says Kamala Harris has a “strong” grasp of the “key issues” facing the country, namely the economy, immigration and foreign policy. She does indeed. Harris and Biden suffocated the economy by debasing the currency. They erased American sovereignty by allowing unvetted foreigners into the country. They ignited two wars abroad with their weak and misguided foreign policy.

But all these points don’t matter to the Herald. The fact that Harris cannot speak cogently, or that she picked a prevaricator and poseur as her running mate, or that her record as vice-president is dismal except to abortionists and globalists (that is, the Democratic base) is irrelevant. What matters to the Herald and to the larger political establishment, is power—constitutionally vested, if possible, but shadily attained if necessary. Power is what counts. And the orange man in the red hat is in the way.
