Report: Reinsdorf open to selling White Sox

White Sox majority owner Jerry Reinsdorf is in talks to sell the White Sox to a group led by former Major League pitcher Dave Stewart, The Athletic reported Wednesday.

Reinsdorf, who led a group who bought the White Sox in 1981, has previously said he was not interested in selling the team.

In a letter to fans at the end of the season, Reinsdorf apologized for the Sox record-breaking losing season.

The Sox are looking to build a new stadium in the South Loop.

Stewart, who won 20 games four straight years with the Oakland Athletics, has been trying to get an expansion team in Nashville, the Athletic reported.
