Help U-46 develop its long-term strategic vision at four planning sessions
Elgin Area School District U-46 is creating a roadmap for its future by partnering with Performance Fact to develop a comprehensive, long-range strategic plan.
In a collaborative effort, the district has already held multiple sessions to gather input from district administrators and school leaders, school-based staff, students, parents, volunteers, and other community members.
These discussions are focused on ensuring that the district meets the needs of its nearly 35,000 students while addressing the priorities of its 11 communities.
Superintendent Suzanne Johnson emphasized the collective nature of the process in developing a plan that will establish a vision and path for U-46 for the next five to 10 years.
“We are committed to embracing the diverse voices of our district as we work together to shape the future of education in our district,” she said. “We aim to create a plan that reflects the aspirations of our students, families, educators, employees, and community.”
U-46 is continuing to host sessions where the public will have the opportunity to contribute to this essential planning process. The insights and feedback gathered during these sessions will directly inform the District’s strategic plan, ensuring a shared vision and common goals that can be achieved in the years ahead.
“We want our families, teachers, and community members to see themselves in this plan. It’s not just about what the district needs today but how we grow and adapt for the future. Their input is invaluable, and we invite everyone to participate in this process,” said board President Melissa Owens, echoing the importance of community involvement.
The four strategic planning community sessions will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates:
• Tuesday, Oct. 22, at South Elgin High School, 760 E. Main St. in South Elgin;
• Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Elgin High School, 1200 Maroon Drive in Elgin;
