Illinois State Bar Association recommendations for Lake County judicial races

The Illinois State Bar Association, the state’s largest bar with more than 28,000 member attorneys, has released its recommendations for Lake County judges running for retention in next month’s election.

The ISBA recommends retention of Second District Appellate Court Justice Susan F. Hutchinson, who the ISBA report describes as “professional, respectful, compassionate, and generous with her time, allowing others to be fully heard.”

For retention in Lake County’s 19th Judicial Circuit the bar association relied on the results of judicial advisory polls consisting of opinions of ISBA members and any licensed attorney who requested a ballot.

Judicial candidates recommended for retention include: Christen L. Bishop, Joseph V. Salvi, Daniel B. Shanes, Charles “Chuck” Smith and Christopher R. Stride. Patricia Sowinwki Fix was not recommended for retention.
