Recycle car seats, smoke detectors and more now at Kane County site

Kane County has expanded the list of what it takes at its recycling center at 517 E. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

It now accepts smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, child car seats, strollers, high chairs and ride-on toy cars (self-propelled and battery-powered). The fee is $15 for each car seat, high chair and stroller; $10 for self-propelled toy cars; $20 for battery-powered toy cars; and $1 for each carbon monoxide and smoke detector. The center accepts cash and credit cards.
