Small fire house fire in McHenry

On Sunday, Oct. 13, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 300 block of Whitmore Trail in McHenry.

MTFPD crews arrived within four minutes to find a two-story, single-family residence with smoke showing from the rear of the home. Crews found a small exterior fire on the back of the home. MTFPD crews deployed a hoseline to the rear of the structure to extinguish the fire and the it was deemed under control within 10 minutes.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The fire is currently under investigation.
