Water line repairs to close Centre of Elgin temporarily on Monday

The Edward Schock Centre of Elgin will temporarily close on Monday, Oct. 14, from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. to perform essential water line repairs.

During that time, the facility will not have access to its main water supply, and the Parks and Recreation Department will suspend several programs and services.

Canceled programs include water aerobics, open pickleball, open gym and the climbing wall. Open swim, the fitness center and the walking track are closed until 3 p.m. when the Centre expects to reopen and resume scheduled programs.

To accommodate members during the closure, an outdoor group fitness class will be offered at 9 a.m. at Lord’s Park East Shelter. All other morning fitness classes at the Centre will be canceled.
