Textile Recycling Event at Palatine Township

Palatine Township and the Palatine Lions Club will co-host a Textile Recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. This service is provided to all township residents and no appointment is necessary.

“We are happy to offer textile recycling for all Palatine Township residents,” said Supervisor Kalkounos.

Motorists must enter from westbound Illinois Street, just east of Quentin Road. Businesses and individuals can drop off a variety of items including:

• All men’s, women’s and children’s clothing.

• Bedding and linens, towels, wash cloths, table linens and cloth napkins.

• Socks, hats and gloves, undergarments.

• Pet beds and sleeping bags.

• Fashion accessories, shoes, sandals and slippers, belts, purses, etc.

• Stuffed animals, books and toys.

• Kitchenware and tools.

Items that will not be accepted:

• Appliances, furniture, tires, paint, carpeting and mattresses.

• Traditional recyclables (metal, glass, paper) and hazardous waste.

• Wet or badly soiled items.

We reserve the right to refuse any items presented for donation.

Palatine Township is the main source of humanitarian aid in our community. The Township provides numerous services and events for its 114,000 residents and supports 29 social service agencies located within its boundaries. The Township is one of the most heavily populated in Illinois, with a goal to enhance and improve the quality of life for all of its residents.

The following communities are part of the Township: Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Inverness, Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Barrington, South Barrington and Schaumburg.
