Hanover Township to host property assessment seminar

Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin and Supervisor Brian P. McGuire will host a property assessment seminar at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett.

The Cook County Assessor’s Office will present on the assessment appeals process and explain how to determine if an appeal should be filed. County staff will also walk attendees through the appeals process. A question-and-answer session will also follow the presentation. Registration is not required.

“Under the best circumstances, determining how the county assesses properties can be very complicated and frustrating to many,” said Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin. “With this seminar, residents can hear firsthand from staff on how property is assessed and how appeals can be filed to lower those assessments.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their 2023 second installment tax bill to the seminar.

The seminar is also cosponsored by Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison, state Sen. Cristina Castro, state Sen. Karina Villa, state Rep. Fred Crespo, state Rep. Anna Moeller, and state Rep. Maura Hirschauer.
