Inspiring stories shine at the seventh annual Outstanding Women Leaders Awards Luncheon
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) Women’s Biz Net (WBN) hosted a memorable and inspiring afternoon on Sept. 26, at the seventh annual Outstanding Women Leaders (OWL) Awards Luncheon, held at Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington. Nearly 100 community business owners and leaders gathered for the event, celebrating four remarkable women for their leadership and impact.
The 2024 OWL Honorees included: Leslie Ferris Yerger, CEO and founder of My Density Matters, OWL recipient for Nonprofit Leadership; Linda Gump, owner of Jovie Nannies & Sitters and College Tutors, OWL recipient for Professional Excellence; Traci Sanders Campbell, owner of The BIBO Foundation/BeSpire TV, LLC, OWL recipient for Community Impact; Mary Brennan, founder of Barrington Dance Ensemble/Academy, OWL recipient for Mentorship and Education.
The afternoon was filled with heartfelt moments as each honoree took the stage to share their personal journeys of perseverance, passion, and leadership. Attendees were moved by firsthand accounts of the challenges these women faced in their careers and personal lives, and how those experiences shaped their paths to success.
“This event was a true testament to the incredible women in our community,” said BACC President/CEO Suzanne Corr. “Each honoree’s journey is an inspiration to all of us, and it was a privilege to hear their stories firsthand. Their contributions are making a lasting impact, both professionally and in the community.”
The OWL Awards recognize women leaders in four categories: Nonprofit Leadership, Professional Excellence, Community Impact, and Mentorship and Education. The luncheon provided an opportunity for guests to not only celebrate these honorees but also to connect with fellow leaders and reflect on the importance of women’s roles in shaping the future of the Barrington area.
This year’s event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors: Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington Bank & Trust Company, N.A., BMO Wealth Management, and Northern Trust. Their dedication to recognizing outstanding women leaders is greatly appreciated.
