League of Women Voters of Naperville to host candidate forum for DuPage Board Dist. 5
The League of Women Voters of Naperville invites voters to attend an online forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, featuring the candidates for DuPage County Board District 5.
Candidates who have accepted the invitation are: Patty Gustin and Saba Haider. The general election is Nov. 5.
The public forum is free, but guests must register in advance at rebrand.ly/oct24-forum.
Following registration, guests can save event information to their digital calendar.
The forum will be recorded and available online afterward on the YouTube channel.
If registration for the event exceeds the Zoom capacity, you can watch it live on the league’s Facebook page.
Visit lwvnaperville.org for more information and/or join the organization. All persons aged 16 and older are welcome to become members of the League of Women Voters.
Unlike a debate, a forum involves a neutral, trained moderator from outside the district who presents questions to candidates for their live responses.
The League of Women Voters, founded in 1920, envisions a democracy where every individual has a desire, the right, the knowledge and the confidence to participate. The League believes in the power of citizens to create a more perfect democracy and has been conducting forums as part of its voter education mission for decades.
The League of Women Voters is non-partisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government, but always working on vital issues of concern to its members and the public.
The League of Women Voters encourages all voters to mark their calendars for Nov. 5 as a reminder to vote.
