Benet Academy earns Gold distinction on the Advanced Placement School Honor Roll

The College Board recently announced that Benet Academy in Lisle has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll, earning Gold distinction.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

AP tests, administered by the College Board, are designed to measure a student’s mastery of college-level material in various subjects. Success in these exams not only reflects a student’s dedication and hard work, but also opens doors to college credit and advanced course placements in universities across the country.

Benet offers 24 AP classes in a wide range of courses, from STEM subjects to the humanities, ensuring that students have access to diverse academic opportunities that align with their interests and career aspirations.

Principal Sheri Costello commented: “Our students’ success in Advanced Placement exams is a testament to their passion for learning and the unwavering commitment of our teachers. At Benet, we strive to create an environment where academic rigor is matched by the support and encouragement students need to excel. These outstanding results reflect the strength of our community and the bright futures that lie ahead for each of our students.”

LoriAnne Frieri, assistant principal of curriculum and instruction, added, “We are deeply grateful and blessed to have exceptional teachers who go above and beyond in preparing students for these exams and whose guidance and support empowers our students to achieve academic excellence.”
