Six-unit apartment building proposed for Wheeling

A six-unit apartment building has been proposed for vacant land in Wheeling.

G&D Construction wants to put up the three-story building at 268 7th St., south of Strong Street.

The village’s plan commission will discuss the proposal Wednesday. That meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at village hall, 2 Community Blvd. Developers are seeking exceptions from village zoning rules for parking spaces and other elements.

The plan commission advises the village board on development issues. Board approval will be needed for the project to move forward.
