Bartlett police arrest man accused of stealing packages from porch

Bartlett police arrested a Calumet City man Monday on allegations he stole packages from the front porch of a home in the village a couple weeks earlier.

Jose Baez De Los Santos, 26, is charged with felony theft in connection with the accusations, police said.

At about 9:30 a.m. Sept. 11, Bartlett officers responded to a theft report at a single-family home on the 1900 block of Southfield Drive.

Following an investigation, Bartlett police alleged Baez De Los Santos stole two packages containing iPhones with a total value exceeding $500 from the front porch.

Baez De Los Santos was taken into custody without incident Monday, authorities said. He is scheduled for a court appearance Oct. 7 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
