Save the date for local Wreaths Across America Day

The Barrington-based Signal Hill, NSDAR Chapter is pleased to once again organize and facilitate the 2024 Wreaths Across America Day event at Evergreen Cemetery.

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, and a brief memorial service will begin promptly at noon. After the service, attendees will be directed to place wreaths on the marked graves of veterans interred at the cemetery.

Wreaths Across America had humble beginnings and has blossomed into an event that features more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather to Remember, Honor and Teach at more than 4,225 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad. This year, the Signal Hill Chapter will be honoring more than 825 veterans’ graves at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.

If you would like to sponsor a $17 wreath for placement at Evergreen, visit wreathsacrossamerica.org/IL0113. Groups or organizations are also welcome to contribute in wreath sponsorship or attendance on the day of the event.

Signal Hill, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, was chartered in Barrington in 1972. Over its 50+ years, the chapter as made significant contributions to a variety of 501(c) 3 groups in its area. Members of Signal Hill have proved direct lineage to an American Revolutionary War patriot, be it male or female.
