A ‘fleeting moment,’ a better world
My mother died recently. She was a God-fearing woman, encountering a long life of various experiences, none of great importance to those who never knew her, but many of great importance to her family and those she touched. My mother of 97 years on this planet, witnessing and enduring war, hardships and the worst of what mankind can offer. Yet, experiencing some victories, joy, love and the best of what mankind can offer. Her cup was always half full, ready to meet a new friend.
For, we each exist for but a “fleeting moment” on this planet. It has been that way from creation to present day. Do we make this world a better place during our “fleeting moment,” or do we damage the world, or make it worse?
If only we would touch this world in a way to make it a better place than the way we found it, there would be so much more hope, joy, love and peace for the future generations. My mom did.
Recently she was laid to rest in a rural country cemetery in Washington state. A serene location. A slice of heaven on earth she has now earned. Bringing closure to her “fleeting moment” on this planet. Just sayin’.
