Our Saviour’s Lutheran in Naperville hosts Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 19
On Saturday, Oct. 19, kids and their families are invited to enjoy some unspooky (and free) fun in Naperville at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church’s annual Trunk-or-Treat.
It will be from 2-4 p.m. across the parking lot and adjacent garden of Our Saviour’s Celebration Campus, 919 S. Washington St. in Naperville.
This favorite community tradition will feature lawn games and a lemonade stand in addition to trunk-or-treating. The event is open to the public and draws families both from nearby neighborhoods and surrounding towns.
Each year, Our Saviour’s Trunk-or-Treat collects items for donation to local charitable organizations.
This year, Trunk-or-Treat attendees are invited to drop off new children’s books that will be donated to Naperville-based Loaves & Fishes Community Services and to Holy Family Ministries, located in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood.
"This event is definitely a highlight of the year," said Kim Walker, children’s ministry coordinator at Our Saviour’s. "The atmosphere is so joyful, and it’s great to see kids and adults out there having fun with friends."
In 2023, Our Saviour’s Trunk-or-Treat drew more than 500 attendees and filled several bins with donations of pet supplies for the DuPage Area Humane Society.
"It’s been exciting to see Trunk-or-Treat grow over the past few years," Walker said. "We know October is a busy time for families, so we are glad to be able to welcome them to a fun, festive and free community event."
