Pingree Grove village office cyberattacked

The village of Pingree Grove was the victim of a cyberattack on its computerized records, officials said. According to a news release from the village, fraudsters gained access through the employee email system. Utility account information was not compromised. Village manager Andy Ferrini declined to release any further information, such as when it happened and if money was stolen, saying he did not want to interfere with the FBI’s investigation.
