Gurnee business loses license to sell tobacco products

A Gurnee business’ license to sell tobacco products, electronic cigarettes or alternative nicotine products has been revoked for a year, the Lake County Health Department said.

The action taken Wednesday was for Moshi’s Tobacco and Vape, 34491 N. Old Walnut Circle, according to a press release.

The revocation follows a hearing Sept. 10 in which it was determined a Moshi’s employee on May 16 and multiple other occasions sold electronic cigarette products to a person under the age of 21.

The license had been suspended for 14 days ending May 8. The business can remain open but is prohibited from selling tobacco products, electronic cigarettes or alternative nicotine products until the owner obtains a new license on or after Sept. 25, 2025.

The revocation can be appealed before the Lake County Board of Health hearings committee or by requesting judicial review.
