Longtime trustee running for Lake Barrington village president
Lake Barrington village Trustee Andy Burke announced Wednesday he will run for the village president’s post in the April 2025 election, and the person he’s hoping to replace is leading the charge.
Longtime Village President Kevin Richardson is serving as campaign chair for Burke and three others seeking village trustee seats next year. All three — Therese Van Ryne, Richard Hayes and Susie Perkins — are, like Burke, current village trustees.
“I am confident that as Lake Barrington’s next Village President, Trustee Andy Burke, along with my colleagues Richard Hayes, Suzie Perkins, and Therese Van Ryne, who are seeking reelection as Village Trustees, will continue to successfully move our Village forward,” Richardson said in a written statement released Wednesday.
In his announcement, Burke said that as leader of the village’s Economic Development Committee, he has successfully attracted new business to Lake Barrington and helped existing businesses survive and thrive during the COVID pandemic, while stabilizing and growing the village’s retail sales tax revenue generation.
“I have big shoes to fill as Village President, but I am confident that my 14 years of Trustee experience, along with the strong position of our community, will enable me to continue the great work that Kevin Richardson has done to assure that Lake Barrington will remain an oasis of gracious countryside living,” he said in the announcement.
