Lisle Library District’s annual Fall Fest returns Sept. 27
The end of September equals Fall Fest at the Lisle Library District. The annual festival will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.
Festivities take place in the library’s south parking lot and inside the building at 777 Front St. Maps of all activity locations will be distributed to attendees.
“Fall Fest has become a staple at the LLD and in our community,” said director Tatiana Weinstein. “Autumn always ushers in feelings of community for me. It’s when school starts, football is everywhere, thoughts of the holidays are lurking in the back of your mind, and it’s a time when gatherings with friends and loved ones begin to align.”
“Fall Fest is a place to initiate those connections within the community,” Weinstein said. “Meet your neighbors, meet other library users and embrace everything fall has to offer at the LLD this Friday!”
The event begins with a festive story time featuring “Creepy Carrots” by Aaron Reynolds. A special visit from main character, Jasper Rabbit, will entertain both children and caregivers. Story time begins at 5 p.m. in the library’s meeting room.
The Craft Station encourages attendees to take and make a featured craft. Each kit has all the supplies to make a harvest pumpkin wall hanging.
Cheesie’s Food Truck will serve grilled cheese sandwiches while supplies last.
Returning this year is the popular petting zoo, delighting attendees of all ages.
All are welcome to commemorate the day with a photo in the gorgeously decorated outdoor photo booth. The festive photos can be emailed to participants.
New this year is a temporary tattoo station featuring fall images ranging from pumpkins to autumn leaves to scarecrows.
Expert librarians will be on-site to provide custom book recommendations. Attendees also have the opportunity to register for a library card among the Fall Fest activities.
