Hansen named Barrington’s deputy village manager

Barrington announced three key promotions to village staff Monday.

Marie Hansen, assistant village manager and director of development services, was promoted to deputy village manager.

Hansen, who has served the village for eight years, will continue to focus on high profile projects with added responsibilities over capital budgeting and grant management, among other duties, Village Manager Scott Anderson said.

Jennifer Tennant, assistant director of development services was promoted to director of development services.

Tennant has served in the role of assistant director for the last 12 years.

“Jennifer has proven to be a strong leader within the department and consistently provided excellent guidance and judgment over complicated issues,” Anderson said.

“They are two people who are invaluable to this village in so many ways and have produced wonderful work,” Village President Karen Darch said.

Jillian Chojnowski, who has been office manager in development services, was promoted to executive assistant and deputy clerk, and reassigned to the village manager's office.
