College of DuPage police to teach how to ‘Stop the Bleed’
The College of DuPage Police Department is providing a free first aid course as part of a national awareness campaign called “Stop the Bleed.”
Participants in the course will learn what to do in emergencies where there is uncontrollable bleeding. Someone who is bleeding can die from blood loss in as quickly as five minutes, according to a course description.
COD police will offer the class from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday Oct. 11, in the Berg Instructional Center, Room 1426, on the school’s Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
The course is open to the public, though registration is required.
