Carve the perfect pumpkin at Rolling Meadows Park District

Make the “cut” at Rolling Meadows Park District’s Family Pumpkin Carving.

Sponsored by Orthodontic Experts, Family Pumpkin Carving is set for 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Community Center. Pumpkins, carving supplies, designs and decorations will be provided.

“This is a great way to start the Halloween season,” said Sydney Szukala, recreation supervisor for Special Events & Community Engagement. “We’ll take care of the mess while you carve pumpkins, listen to Halloween music and enjoy a snack.”

In addition to various jack-o'-lantern design options, paint, glitter, pom poms and other craft items will be available to give each pumpkin a unique look.

“We’re thrilled to see families unleash their creativity and personalize each pumpkin,” Szukala said. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for parents and kids to bond, enjoy a fun evening together and create lasting fall memories.”

Event cost is $9 per participant for residents and $11 per participant for nonresidents. Each participant attending the event must register and each registrant will receive one pumpkin to carve and decorate.
