Get ready to ride in Des Plaines

​A Des Plaines group’s community bike ride is set for Sept. 28, and you can participate.

Bike Walk Des Plaines will start the event at the Campground Road Woods Forest Preserve, at the intersection of Algonquin and Campground roads. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the ride starts at 10 a.m.

Riders of all ages and experience levels are invited to participate in the eight-mile ride along the Des Plaines River Trail. Activities and music are planned for after the ride.

Riders should bring helmets and water.

Event sponsors include the city of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Park District and Des Plaines School District 62.
