Authorities: Buffalo Grove man was selling ecstasy, marijuana

A 33-year-old Buffalo Grove man is facing multiple felony drug charges following a sting involving local, county and federal law enforcement agencies.

According to a news release from the Lake County sheriff’s office, Zans Batjuks is charged with manufacturing ecstasy, possession of ecstasy, manufacturing and delivery of cannabis and possession of cannabis.

Authorities said the county’s special investigations group initiated an undercover operation after learning Batjuks was selling the party drug ecstasy and other narcotics.

The sting culminated in a search of Batjuks residence on the 400 block of Castlewood Lane Wednesday resulting in the seizure of 315 grams of MDMA, 15 ecstasy pills, cocaine and over 5,200 grams of cannabis, according to the release.

Batjuks remains jailed in Lake County and is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing.
