Elgin Golden K Kiwanis start Peanut Drive Sept. 14

On Saturday Sept. 14, the Elgin Golden K Kiwanis Club launches its Peanut Days fundraiser for the year. On weekends until Oct. 6, look for Elgin Golden K members at the entrance to various locations around town.

Volunteers will be handing out packets of peanuts at Jewel stores in Elgin and South Elgin, as well as Walmart, Paul’s Family Restaurant, and Randall Pancake House.

The schedule will be: Saturday, Sept. 14 at the South Elgin Jewel, 375 S. Randall Road; Friday to Sunday, Sept. 20-22, at Randall Pancake House, 305 S. Randall Road in South Elgin; Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22, at the Jewel-Osco, 1040 Summit St. in Elgin; Friday to Sunday, Sept. 27-29, at Jewel-Osco, 1660 Larkin Ave. in Elgin, and Paul’s Family Restaurant, 1300 Lawrence Ave. in Elgin; and Friday to Sunday, Oct. 4-6, at Walmart Supercenter, 1100 S Randall Road in Elgin.

The Elgin Golden K Kiwanis project solicits donations, often a dollar or more per packet. This fundraiser is the major donation drive for Golden K Kiwanis Club. The club donates the funds to local organizations which serve children and youth. It is a 501c(3) charitable organization
