Mundelein art exhibition launches Friday with public reception

Mundelein’s third annual Lure of the Local art exhibition kicks off Friday at a new location.

The opening-night reception is set to run from 6 to 9 p.m. at 168 N. Archer Ave. The exhibition previously was held in a vacant storefront at Lake and Hawley streets.

Organized by the Mundelein Arts Commission, Lure of the Local is a curated exhibition of Mundelein-area artists’ work.

It will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday through Nov. 10. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is free but donations will be accepted.

Proceeds will go to the Kracklauer Fund for Public Art, which funds future public art installations in Mundelein.
